Facilitator: Queen Sonya Meeks...
is a proud graduate of the Nash Rocky Mount schools. Upon graduation she attended Winston-Salem State University receiving an BS in Accounting. After several years working at finance she turned to her passion, education. Sonya served as a teacher in Career and Technical education Department, CTE Dept Chair, and Career Development Coordinator for more than 15 years. From 2006 to 2008 she took a short hiatus from education and moved into local government earning her municipal city and county administrator certification from UNC Chapel Hill's School of Government and leading a small town out of financial crisis before heading back into education. Most recently, Sonya earned a graduate degree in School Administration and has served for the last two years as an Assistant Principal. She is a former National Board Certified Teacher who hobbies include singing, creating crafts and attending Estate Sales in the DMV area.…
